Local history publication available for purchase
The Braddock Run Watershed Association has produced a local history booklet, “LaVale’s Story,” and is making it available for purchase at a nominal $5.
Copies are can be obtained from the BRWA president, Lucille Schell, by phoning her at home. (301-729-2997)
The booklet can be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service for an additional $1.59.
Proceeds from sales of the booklet are dedicated to a good cause:
They will help fund the cost of the AmeriCorps/VISTA volunteer who serves as BRWA’s watershed coordinator.

The Garden Club of Cumberland
Organized in 1956, the goal of the Garden Club of Cumberland is to educate its members in home interior and exterior gardening. Extensions of this goal include flower arranging, garden therapy, and maintenance of city parks. Members are encouraged to protect the environment and gain an appreciation for wildlife and conservation of natural areas.
