The LaVale Civic Improvement Association is responsible for:
- Hearing and addressing concerns of LaVale residents
- Operation of 3 county-owned parks
- Lions Field - in cooperation with LaVale Athletic Association
- Holly Avenue Recreation Area - in cooperation with LaVale Athletic Association
- LaVale District Park
- Applying for Program Open Space funds
- Maintenance of LaVale District Park
- Lawn mowing, gasoline, equipment repairs
- Electricity for tennis courts
- General maintenance and supplies
- Scheduling group use of LaVale District Park
- Informational flyers in newspaper to LaVale residents
- Fund-raising mailing
- Post Office Box
